Unlock YouTube Partnership at 500 Subscribers: Your Path To Success

Date:

To stand out from the competition, social networks no longer hesitate to open their wallets. YouTube has decided to simplify the conditions of access to its partner program in order to boost the creativity of content creators.

YouTube intends to open access to its partner program to a greater number of users. And it is by modifying and simplifying the selection criteria that the platform hopes to attract new creators.

“Starting today, eligible creators will be able to start applying for the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) sooner, once they reach a threshold of 500 subscribers, three public downloads in the last 90 days and 3,000 hours of viewing in the past year or 3 million views on YouTube Shorts in the past 90 days. These new partners will have access to fan funding features, such as channel membership, Super Chat, Super Stickers, Super Thanks, and the ability to promote their own products with YouTube Shopping,” YouTube said on its official blog.

To be able to access account monetization through the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), the platform has lowered its criteria. Previously, creators had to show 1,000 subscribers, 4,000 watch hours or 10 million views in the Shorts category.

Boost content creation and collaborations
YouTube continues its efforts to compete against its competitors, and in particular TikTok. In particular, the platform offers more advantageous income for creators. Good arguments to convince Internet users to create content on the video platform, which would thus make it possible to abandon other social networks.

The new rules have already started rolling out in the US, UK, Canada, Taiwan and South Korea. They will soon be rolled out to other countries where the YouTube Partner Program is already available.

The American giant has also decided to simplify the conditions for monetizing its YouTube Shopping affiliate program. This program allows creators to tag the products present in their video and earn a commission if a viewer buys the product by clicking on the added link. “For creators who are further along in their YouTube journey, we are extending our YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program to all eligible US-based creators who are in YPP with over 20,000 subscribers. The Affiliate Program enables creators to feature products from other brands and creators in their content and be eligible for competitive commission rates on sales of tagged products in their videos and Shorts,” YouTube explains. The platform recalled its collaboration with more than 50 brands such as Ulta Beauty, Sephora and Wayfair.

With simplified conditions, YouTube hopes to boost the creation of content on its platform, and who says more content necessarily means more opportunities for paid partnerships with brands.
