A united kingdom behind its princess. After the announcement of Kate Middleton’s cancer, messages of support poured in across the Channel. The Prince and Princess of Wales said on Saturday evening they were “extremely touched” by the attention of the public.
“Both the Prince and Princess have been extremely touched by the messages of sympathy (sent by) people from the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and around the world,” said a Kensington Palace spokesperson.
“They are extremely touched by the warmth and support from the public,” he added.
Respect for privacy
Kate and William “are grateful for (the public’s) understanding of their request for privacy at this time,” the spokesperson concluded. Princess Kate, 42, announced Friday evening in a video that she was suffering from cancer, the nature of which she did not specify.
The wife of the heir to the British throne has started preventative chemotherapy treatment. She continues her convalescence away from view, at the Adelaide Cottage estate. Located near Windsor Castle, since 2022 it has been the main residence of the princely couple and their three children.
