Samsung unveils $2,500 57-inch Dual UHD monitor

Date:

As always, monitor manufacturers are not short of ideas for pushing the technological limits of their screens. Today, Samsung is making its return with a rather impressive monitor at Gamescom 2023.

Named Odyssey Neo G9, this new Dual UHD screen offers the equivalent of two 32-inch 4K screens placed side by side. This screen had already been presented last year before being formalized during CES 2023 at the very beginning of the year. In 2021, Samsung had also released a monitor with the same name and offering the resolution of two 1440p screens on a 49-inch monitor.

For this new Odyssey Neo G9, the Korean brand has opted for a 57-inch curved Quantum Mini LED display with a refresh rate of 240 Hz, a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits (VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified, 420 nits typical) and a 7680 x 2160 full resolution for an extremely wide 32:9 aspect ratio. Here are other specs of this monitor:

several display modes
a DisplayPort 2.1 port
three HDMI 2.1 ports
a USB hub
support for AMD’s FreeSync Premium Pro variable refresh rate technology
The 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 will be available in the US in October for $2,499.99 and it’s available to pre-order today for €2,199.99 in the UK.
