The UK funds the reduction of data center emissions.
The London-based Greenpixie has in fact obtained a 100% guaranteed loan from the British government to create a tool capable of reducing millions of tons of emissions from data centers a year.
Why is the government moving?
The rampant electricity consumption of data centers has led the Government to act on the issue: to date, the United Kingdom accounts for 3% of global greenhouse gas emissions and the exponential growth of the cloud, with its energy-intensive architecture, must be governed and measured.
The GreenTech solution
Greenpixie then obtained the funds to create a product that helps companies that already use cloud computing to calculate emissions inside data centers.
“This transformative technology has the potential to revolutionize the IT industry and finally address the absurd levels of waste in the cloud,” says John Ridd, CEO of Greenpixie. By allowing unnecessary calculations to run in data centers, developers in the cloud are essentially heating up empty houses. Thanks to the data we provide, companies will finally be able to move towards environmental efficiency as well, not only in terms of costs and performance».
