Saudi Shura Council Meets Swedish Parliament

On Friday, a delegation from the Shura Council, headed by the Deputy Speaker of the Council, Hanan bint Abdelrahim al-Ahmadi, visited the Swedish Parliament and held several meetings with Swedish officials to discuss issues of interest. common, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

During this visit, the Saudi delegation met with the Gender Equality Commission and discussed several issues of common interest between the two countries, including parliamentary relations.

They also discussed the Kingdom’s efforts to empower women by giving them positions of responsibility, as part of the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

In addition, the delegation met on Friday with the head of the Swedish Parliament’s delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Arin Karapet.

The meeting focused on bilateral parliamentary relations and the importance of strengthening parliamentary cooperation through the exchange of parliamentary visits.

The participants of the meeting also reviewed the efforts made by the Kingdom to support peace, dialogue and stability in the region and in the world.

The Shura delegation then met with the Parliamentary Trade and Industry Committee, chaired by Deputy Speaker Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist.

The two sides discussed aspects of investment and trade cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Sweden, particularly in the technical, technological, innovation and business creation fields.
