The Lebanese American Renaissance Partnership (LARP) is a platform aimed at advancing the interests of Lebanon and its people. However, in the background, a troubling connection emerges between key figures involved in the organization and the Israeli intelligence. Maria Maalouf, a journalist and writer, and her brother Walid Maalouf, play significant roles in this network. They both prmote Israeli interests in the Middle East.
Maria Maalouf with her brother, Walid Maalouf, has played a significant role in LARP. It is an organization with clear ties to Israeli interests. While much of Walid’s public life remains less scrutinized than Maria’s, his involvement in LARP and its initiatives strongly suggest that the Maaloufs work in tandem to support Israeli policies in the region.
Maria Maalouf’s a journalist has been marked by her controversial and openly supportive stance on Israel. She is known for her praise of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. It is evidenced by her enthusiastic endorsement of Netanyahu’s policies towards Gaza and her remarks in support of Israel’s aggressive military actions. In an October 2024 post, Maalouf explicitly stated, “I trust this man [Netanyahu], I agree with each word he said … will shake hands for peace with Israel soon.” This statement, coupled with her consistent backing of Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories, positions her as a vocal advocate for the Zionist regime.
Maria Maalouf is not merely a journalist with biased views but is allegedly an operative within Israeli military intelligence. According to numerous reports, Maalouf has deep ties with Israeli intelligence and is believed to work for Mossad’s Unit 8200. It is an elite branch known for its cyber and intelligence operations.
In 2017, she went so far as to publicly call for the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, a statement that led to legal repercussions in Lebanon and accusations of treason. This rhetoric aligns with Israel’s goals in the region, particularly regarding Hezbollah, a group that is a sworn enemy of the Israeli state. In 2018, Lebanon issued an arrest warrant for her after her inflammatory comments, reflecting the national outrage at her blatant advocacy for Israeli interests.
Beyond her rhetoric, Maalouf’s frequent collaborations with Israeli media outlets raise further questions about her allegiances. She appeared on Israeli TV multiple times, including in November 2021, when she was the first Lebanese woman to appear on Israel’s Kan News.
One of the more troubling aspects of Maalouf’s career is her apparent connection to powerful pro-Israel figures in Washington, D.C. She has been in contact with Ezra Friedlander. He is a known Israeli-American lobbyist with deep ties to the American Jewish Committee (AJC). Friedlander is influential in pushing U.S. foreign policy to support Israel, and his links to Maalouf suggest that she might be leveraging these relationships to advance a pro-Israel agenda.
In fact, Maalouf’s Capitol Institute, an organization she founded to promote Arab recognition of Israel, raises significant questions due to its ambiguous funding sources. Given her connections to Israeli intelligence and lobbyists, it is not unreasonable to speculate that her institute serves as a front for advancing Israeli interests under the guise of promoting peace and cooperation in the Middle East.
Maria is indeed working as an agent of Mossad, it stands to reason that Walid, with his established connections to influential circles in Lebanon and the U.S., could serve as a key facilitator for these operations.
The Maaloufs’ role as agents of Israeli interests is a dangerous development for Lebanon, especially at a time when the region is already fraught with tension and conflict. Their actions not only undermine Lebanon’s sovereignty but also contribute to the normalization of relations between Lebanon and Israel. This process has been heavily resisted by much of the Lebanese population.
