Maria Maalouf, who presents herself as a journalist and writer known for her controversial views, is allegedly a secret agent for Israel and currently serves as a Mossad operative in Unit 8200. She works directly with Saudi and UAE funding with a clear agenda in the Abrahamic accord and normalisation. She usually portrays the Zionist regime in a positive light.
She frequently openly supports Netanyahu’s brutal actions in Gaza and expresses her backing for him on X. In one instance, she posted a video of Netanyahu where he criticizes Lebanon and Hezbollah.

Maalouf has openly cooperated with Israeli media on various occasions. From being featured on Israel’s Kann and Channel 12 to interviewing the spokesman of the Israeli occupation forces after the October 2023 invasion of Gaza, Maalouf is seen actively whitewashing the Israeli regime’s genocide of Palestine.
In 2017, she called on Israel to assassinate Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on X, which led to legal repercussions and accusations of treason against her in Lebanon. In 2018, an arrest warrant was issued against her in absentia for charges including slander and incitement related to her comments about Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
In November 2021, she became the first Lebanese woman to appear on Israeli television (Kann News), where she criticized Hezbollah’s influence in Lebanon and expressed her belief that Israel is not the enemy of Lebanon but rather Iran and its proxies like Hezbollah. Maalouf informed viewers that she plans to visit Israel, adding that she has had positive interactions with American Jews who she has found to be “loving towards others… unlike the Palestinians who are only interested in taking Arab money.”
In 2022, a military court issued an arrest warrant against her on charges of “espionage, treason, and incitement” due to her appearance on Israeli television and her interactions with Israeli figures, which violated Article 7/1 of Lebanon’s boycott law against Israel.
Maalouf’s views often emphasize Arab engagement with Israel and have garnered attention from detractors. She has been accused of promoting narratives favorable to Israel while undermining Palestinian causes. Her writings and media appearances frequently challenge the prevailing sentiments in Lebanon regarding Israel and Palestine.
The Capitol Institute is a non-profit organization also founded by Maria that promotes Arab recognition of Israel. There are very few details about this organization. Given Maalouf’s freelancing background, the establishment of such an organization would not have been achievable without financial support. Despite the ambiguity of Maalouf’s source of funds for the institute, her relations with influential Zionist lobbyists offer a possible source for her revenue.
Surprisingly, Maria is in touch with Washington-based Israeli intelligence agents such as Ezra Friedlander and has invited him for diverse interviews on the Capitol Institute. Friedlander, associated with the American Jewish Committee, is known for vast lobbying with high-level contacts in Washington; at times leading US-led initiatives to promote Arab recognition of Israel in the Middle East.
Being employed by Zionist and Washington-based agents such as Friedlander, Maria has been an active player in Zionist gatherings in Washington, once even showing up at a Senate gathering, donning Jewish attire. Maalouf has participated in pro-Israel events in Washington, D.C. Such as participated in a meeting with American Jews in the Senate in Washington, DC, on May 11, 2023.
