Launched at the Shanghai Motor Show: Omoda & Jaecoo arrive in Morocco

The Moroccan automobile market is attracting more and more manufacturers. Two new brands will be marketed in the Kingdom during the months of September. These are the Omoda & Jaecoo brands. Thus, the new Omoda 3, Omoda 5 & Jaecoo 7 will arrive in Casablanca on September 12, 2024. The petrol versions will arrive first, and will be followed by the all-electric model, the new Omoda E5.

The Omoda & Jaecoo brands will soon enter the Moroccan market. “The product offering in Morocco will be launched with models that are as practical as they are stylish, technological, with a refined design offering radical technical innovations. The new Omoda 3, Omoda 5 & Jaecoo 7 will arrive in Casablanca on September 12, 2024. The petrol versions will arrive first, and will be followed by the all-electric model, the new Omoda E5,” said a press release from the two brands specifying that all the new Omoda & Jaecoo models target the highly competitive compact SUV segment. “The recent massive arrival of automobile brands from China underlines the consideration given to the Kingdom of Morocco,” notes the same source. And to add: “The Jaecoo brand is dedicated to innovation, offering exceptional four-wheel drive performance, world-leading and progressive safety equipment; intelligent technologies in a range of SUVs equally at home in urban and off-road environments. Paying meticulous attention to detail, Jaecoo combines the experience and technical know-how of teams around the world, particularly in Europe and China, to establish a new competitor for off-road vehicles.” On March 20, 2024, CFAO Mobility announced the signing of a distribution partnership with Omoda & Jaecoo. From September 2024, the Omoda & Jaecoo brands will be marketed in the Kingdom and the new showroom built specifically will open on the Corniche in Casablanca. It must be said that in less than a year, the Omoda & Jaecoo brands have rapidly expanded globally, entering key markets such as Mexico, Spain, Chile, Kazakhstan, Turkey, but also Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, Belgium and soon Poland, Greece, Holland, France and Germany. More than 40 markets with high global potential have been opened, establishing a network of 900 dealers. In just one year, with 160,000 vehicles exported in 2023, Omoda & Jaecoo have been the fastest growing automobile brands in the world.

It should be noted that the Omoda & Jaecoo brands were launched in April 2023 at the Shanghai Motor Show by the Chery Group. Its two new brands – Omoda & Jaecoo were designed to develop international sales – particularly in Europe – offering a range of gasoline, hybrid and electric cars. A public company founded on January 8, 1997 by officials from the city of Wuhu in Anhui Province in China, the Chery Group is currently the fifth largest automobile group in China with 1,881,316 vehicles sold in 2023, and its leading exporting automobile group for 22 consecutive years serving its 14 million customers worldwide. The Chery Group has been producing its cars at its Anhui plant since 2007, and opened a second plant in 2012 in Dalian in Liaoning Province. Investing 7% of its turnover in research and development, the Chery group currently has 80,000 employees – including 5,500 experts employed in Research & Development, notably in six design centers – including one in Wuhu, two in Shanghai, one in Raunheim in Germany – and 300 research and testing laboratories worldwide.
