Serravalle Outlet, the Pink Tour for women’s health returns with Komen Italia

Date:

The traditional appointment with prevention is back at Serravalle Designer Outlet, which will host the Prevention Caravan of Komen Italia on September 13 and 14, the National Traveling Program for the Promotion of Women’s Health that offers completely free diagnostic tests.

A commitment that for the fourth year has been confirmed by the entire McArthurGlen group in Italy through the Pink Tour for Women’s Health, which will involve the four Italian Designer Outlets in September. After the three days in Castel Romano, the mobile units of Komen Italia will reach the McArthurGlen Designer Outlets of La Reggia, Serravalle and Noventa di Piave. There will be over 450 free screenings planned, accessible only by reservation thanks to the help of the Komen Italia Mobile Units in collaboration with the Policlinico Gemelli.

Participation in the screening program is reserved for all interested women outside the age range covered by the regional screening, who have never had prevention tests or have not had them for over 12 months, unless particular symptoms have manifested in the meantime or a specialist has indicated otherwise. Reservations for screenings at Serravalle Designer Outlet are open on the link CAROVANA DELLA PREVENZIONE – SERRAVALLE – 13, 14 SEPTEMBER 2024 (komen.it)

Protecting women’s health and well-being has always been a key objective for McArthurGlen Group, actively involved in social issues. After the first three years of collaboration with Komen Italia, the balance exceeds 1,500 free screenings carried out throughout Italy. Awareness of one’s responsibility within the communities in which it operates is fundamental, a world largely female both in the population of workers in the centers – approximately 70% – and in that of visitors, over half of whom are women.

Protecting women’s health means defending the well-being of an important part of our community. Among the diseases that threaten women’s health in Italy, breast cancer represents one of the most concrete risks since – with over 56,000 new cases in a year – it is the most frequent neoplasm. Not only that: although fortunately with early diagnosis these are curable tumors, their incidence is increasing and this in our country causes the death of more than 1,000 women per month.

A new step in the collaboration between McArthurGlen Group and Komen Italia. McArthurGlen Group is a European leader in the ownership, development and management of Designer Outlets, it was founded in Europe by Kaempfer Partners in 1993. A pioneer of Designer Outlets in Europe, McArthurGlen has since then developed 655,000 square meters of commercial space. The company currently operates 24 designer outlets in 8 countries: Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom, with a total annual turnover of €5.5 billion. The centres feature the most sought-after luxury and premium brands, offering nearly 100 million fashion-conscious customers year-round savings in vibrant outdoor shopping environments. In 2013, McArthurGlen became a joint venture between Kaempfer Partners and Simon Property Group Co. (NYSE SPG), a global leader in the ownership of shopping, dining, entertainment and mixed-use destinations. In April 2023, McArthurGlen opened its new centre, Designer Outlet Paris-Giverny, to better serve fashion enthusiasts west of Paris. As part of the Group’s ongoing portfolio expansion, new phases will be opened in Vancouver, West Midlands, Málaga, Roosendaal and Castel Romano. Komen Italia is the Organization at the forefront of the fight against breast cancer, active throughout the country and based on volunteering. It works to generate economic resources to be allocated to its own projects and those of other Associations involved in the fight against breast cancer and since 2000 has invested more than 26 million euros in over 1,500 new projects for women’s health. Created in Rome, where it has its operational headquarters, today Komen Italia is present in 7 Italian regions and works in collaboration with a vast network of “Friendly Associations” in over 100 cities, thanks to a network of volunteers and numerous testimonials who support the Association with commitment and passion, including Maria Grazia Cucinotta and Rosanna Banfi.
