From Europe 378 million for the flood

Date:

“Now there is money to increase compensation for movable property”. This is how the mayor of Ravenna Michele de Pascale welcomes the EU funds for post-flood reconstruction.

“These 378.8 million euros from the European Commission – says de Pascale, candidate of the center-left in the next regional elections – respond to a commitment and a promise that Commissioner Paolo Gentiloni made about a year ago in Faenza when meeting all the administrators of the territory and the social partners, to support Italy and the resources allocated by Italy for post-flood reconstruction”.

The news, therefore, “is certainly good, but on the other hand it is clear that all the announcements on the allocations are not perceived entirely positively by the citizens who continue to receive the compensation too slowly. Given these additional resources, I do not know how the Government will be able to continue to claim that there is not enough money to increase the ceiling for movable assets, and therefore this good news should represent a further incentive to raise the ceiling for reimbursement of movable assets damaged by the flood, which is currently absolutely insufficient”

“We welcome the fact that the European Commission has proposed to provide 378 million euros to the lands hit by the flood – comments on the topic Alberto Ferrero, provincial coordinator of Fratelli d’Italia and group leader of Fratelli d’Italia in the Ravenna City Council -. This is proof of the credibility that the current government also has at a European level. In fact, I recall that the day after the tragic flood that hit our territories, Prime Minister Meloni immediately arrived and also involved President Von der Leyen in the inspection. Today, the important activity of the government at a European level is bearing fruit. This is the best proof of the credibility it enjoys at an international level”.
