Duran Duran, Good News: A Nice Surprise On The Next Record

Date:

Duran Duran leave for a tour but in the meantime they complete the recording of the new album with an important surprise for the fans

A short but extremely intense tour: seven dates in the United Kingdom from 29 April to 9 May. Then a highly anticipated series of American concerts in large arenas, already almost completely sold out.

The artistic career of Duran Duran is continually renewed after a long series of concerts which have materialized above all in Europe, including Italy. The live dimension returns to be important for the band of Simon Le Bon and his companions even after the departure of Andy Taylor, the founding guitarist who once again, just as it happened many years ago at the height of his success, decided to leave the group.

Duran Duran With Andy Taylor

Relations between Taylor and the other four Durans have always remained warm and friendly. And in the last few weeks, after the revelation of the guitarist that he had made his battle with aggressive and advanced prostate cancer known, the band has once again grown closer. To the point that Andy Taylor, whose conditions aren’t good but don’t prevent him from working, has even returned to the studio.

Andy Taylor, Back to Work

Andy Taylor, now 62, left the band for the first time in 1987 when he founded Power Station immediately after the success of Notorius. He returned for the production of Astronaut which marked the band’s big comeback with all its founders – including drummer Roger Taylor. Then a new departure from the scene, in 2006.

When the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Andy Taylor was absent: he had sent a beautiful message, read by a moved Simon Le Bon.

“A new Album”

The disease kept him busy for five years. John Taylor explained that the band is back at work… “We are very close to Andy, and we are also working on important charity projects on his behalf. At the moment we are working on a new album that will be released by the end of the year on guitar will be him. It will be a very nice project, which also includes many covers of songs we grew up with. It’s great to have Andy back in the band though.”

The band is back in the studio again with Andy Taylor after almost 20 years: the guitarist has recorded together with Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, Roger Taylor and Simon Le Bon in Ibiza.
